Export your meeting notes in multiple formats or share them with your team.

Export Formats

Typr supports several export formats to fit your workflow.

PDF Export

Professional formatted documents:

  1. Open a meeting in Typr
  2. Click ExportPDF
  3. Choose location and save

Best for:

  • Sharing with clients
  • Professional documentation
  • Archiving meetings
  • Printing

Word Document (.docx)

Editable Microsoft Word format:

  1. Click ExportWord
  2. Edit in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or Pages

Best for:

  • Further editing needed
  • Collaboration in Word
  • Company templates
  • Detailed formatting

Markdown (.md)

Developer-friendly plain text format:

  1. Click ExportMarkdown
  2. Use in Notion, Obsidian, or any markdown editor

Best for:

  • Developers and tech teams
  • Note-taking apps (Notion, Obsidian)
  • Version control (Git)
  • Documentation systems

Plain Text (.txt)

Universal compatibility:

  1. Click ExportText
  2. Open anywhere, no special software needed

Best for:

  • Email bodies
  • Simple archiving
  • Maximum compatibility
  • Quick copy/paste

Quick Actions

Copy to Clipboard

Copy notes without saving a file:

  1. Open meeting
  2. Click Copy button
  3. Paste anywhere (email, Slack, etc.)

Copies:

  • Meeting title and date
  • Full transcript
  • Summary and action items

Batch Export

Export multiple meetings at once:

  1. Select meetings (Cmd+Click)
  2. Right-click → Export Selected
  3. Choose format
  4. All meetings export to folder

Customize what gets exported in SettingsExport:

Include in Export

  • ☑️ Meeting title and date
  • ☑️ Participant names (if available)
  • ☑️ Full transcript
  • ☑️ AI summary
  • ☑️ Action items
  • ☑️ Timestamps
  • ☐ Speaker labels

Formatting Options

  • Font: Choose export font
  • Font size: 10pt, 12pt, 14pt
  • Include logo: Add your company logo (Pro)
  • Header/Footer: Customize document headers

Sharing Options

Email Sharing

Share directly via email:

  1. Open meeting
  2. Click ShareEmail
  3. Enter recipient(s)
  4. Choose format (PDF recommended)
  5. Send

Generate secure links to share meetings:

  • Password-protected links
  • Expiring access
  • View-only or download options
Privacy Note

Currently, Typr stores all data locally. Shared files are static exports (PDF, Word, etc.) that you send manually. No cloud sync or live sharing yet.

Export Best Practices

For Clients

  • Use PDF format (looks professional)
  • Include company logo (Settings → Export)
  • Review and edit before sending
  • Remove sensitive information if needed

For Team Collaboration

  • Use Word for collaborative editing
  • Include action items section
  • Add participant names
  • Use descriptive file names

For Documentation

  • Use Markdown for tech docs
  • Export to version control (Git)
  • Include timestamps
  • Organize by project/date

For Archiving

  • Export regularly (weekly/monthly)
  • Use consistent naming: YYYY-MM-DD_MeetingName
  • Store in organized folders
  • Consider PDF for long-term storage

File Naming

Typr auto-generates filenames:

Default format:

MeetingTitle_YYYY-MM-DD.pdf

Example:

Client_Review_2025-01-15.pdf

Default export location:

  • macOS: ~/Documents/Typr Exports/

Troubleshooting

Export button grayed out

Ensure:

  • Meeting has finished processing
  • You have write permissions to export folder
  • Sufficient disk space available

Formatting looks wrong

Try:

  • Update Typr to latest version
  • Check export settings
  • Try different format
  • Contact support

Large file size

Reduce size by:

  • Excluding timestamps
  • Using Plain Text instead of PDF
  • Splitting long meetings
