What Are Templates?

Templates are pre-configured note formats that structure your AI summaries for specific meeting types. Each template emphasizes different information.

Pro Feature

Custom templates are available in Typr Pro. Free users get the Standard template.

Available Templates

Standard (Default)

General-purpose template for any meeting:

  • Meeting summary
  • Key discussion points
  • Action items
  • Decisions made

Best for: Regular team meetings, standups, catch-ups

Board Meeting

Formal format for executive meetings:

  • Agenda items
  • Motions and voting results
  • Executive decisions
  • Strategic initiatives
  • Next steps and deadlines

Best for: Board meetings, executive sessions, governance meetings

Client Call

Client-focused format:

  • Client concerns and requests
  • Solutions proposed
  • Deliverables discussed
  • Next steps and timeline
  • Follow-up items

Best for: Client meetings, customer calls, sales demos

HR Interview

Structured interview documentation:

  • Candidate information
  • Questions asked and responses
  • Key qualifications observed
  • Strengths and concerns
  • Recommendation and next steps

Project Review

Using Templates

Apply Before Recording

  1. Open Typr
  2. Click New Meeting
  3. Select Template dropdown
  4. Choose template
  5. Start recording

Change After Recording

  1. Open existing meeting
  2. Click Settings icon
  3. Select Change Template
  4. Choose new template
  5. AI regenerates summary with new format
Processing Time

Changing templates triggers AI to regenerate the summary. This takes 10-30 seconds depending on meeting length.

Creating Custom Templates (Pro)

Build your own templates for specific needs.

How to Create

  1. Go to SettingsTemplates
  2. Click Create Custom Template
  3. Name your template
  4. Define sections:
    • Add section (e.g., "Risks Identified")
    • Rearrange order
    • Set as required or optional
  5. Save template

  3. Click Export

Available variables:

  • {{date}} - Meeting date
  • {{time}} - Meeting time
  • {{duration}} - Meeting length
  • {{attendees}} - Participant names (if detected)

Troubleshooting
